Jay Jordan is the Service Provider Lead Content Engineer in the Cisco Learning & Certifications’ technical education team. Jay has been with Cisco for over 20 years and has worked in the service provider industry for more than 25 years. He has done everything from installing thicknet and fiber optic cabling in the tunnels at a state university to troubleshooting routing issues in large service provider networks. He has developed and delivered training to some of Cisco’s largest customers primarily focusing on service provider products and technologies including the new Cisco 8000 and ASR 9000 series routers. He also developed technology-based training on L2 & L3VPN services and Segment Routing. Jay works with Cisco’s largest customers to customize training to meet their business needs.
Jay holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Data Networking from Southern Methodist University. Jay resides in the great state of Texas in a small rural community. He enjoys coaching youth robotics teams and working with his hands. On the weekends, if he is not at an area robotics tournament you will find him out in his workshop working on his classic truck or spending time with his wife.
